Day of Difference: Throughout Australia more than 68,000 children are hospitalised due to a serious injury each year. That's 186 per day or eight per hour!
We work together with our sponsors and donors to build a community of support for all children and their families who are struggling with life changing critical injuries. During the past six years the funds we have raised have helped to make a significant contribution to the survival and recovery of critically injured children.
Our Vision
Our Vision is for children to live a happy and fulfilled life after a life threatening injury
Our Mission
Our mission is to make a difference to the lives of children with life threatening injuries and their families by supporting them on their journey from intensive care to recovery.

What is Bushcare? Often people wonder what they
can do for the environment. They dream up ideas about changing the world. Sometimes the scale of those dreams
is difficult to realise and manage. Through a gathering of
the community the saying "think global, act local" can restore faith in the possibility that something communal can be achieved in a hurry.
Bushcare Program
Through a monthly Bushcare program, a partnership
between the Lane Cove Council and the community, there is an opportunity for you to participate in the regeneration and rehabilitation of weed infected bushland.
Acting locally. The benefits
--The work is healthy, you are outdoors, and with the guidance
of a trained council staffer you will be trained and educated.
--You will meet new people and gain diverse skills each month, only two hours of your time is required. If you can only come once, please do.
--Insurance for volunteers aged between 15-90 years.
--A quarterly newsletter "The Golden Whistler."
--An end of year social event to acknowledge the volunteers Bushcare group.
Join our Bushcare work days
on the last Wednesday each month,
from 9.30-11.30am, meeting at 112
Penrose Street in Lane Cove.
All you need to do is bring a hat, wear sturdy shoes (no thongs or open-toed shoes) and comfortable clothing. Bring your favourite pair of gloves, or the Council will provide them.
Bushcare groups operate to a specific work plan for each site,
with each plan developed by staff and volunteers in accordance with Council's overall objectives for bushland management.

We always need volunteers and any contribution is greatly appreciated. People come to Shambhala to meditate and to seek healing, so our bushland setting here is important.
Come and support the environment -- join Bushcare.
